Hardest Working Player of the Week Award

2009-2010

• Playoff Series 2: vs. Celtic – Nick Rodway has been named the hardest working Blade for the series against the Celtics. Nick made many game changing saves, and is a big reason the Blades pushed the Celtics to a game 7.
• Playoff Series 1: vs. Bell Island – Matt Woodford played a good two-way game in the series against Bell Island. His strong play also lead to the series clinching goal in overtime on Saturday night. For this, Matt has been given this series’ Hardest Working Player Award.
• Week 17: Dan Evans – This week Dan Evans is named the Hardest Working Player. In the Blades win over the Southern Shore, Dan was around the puck all night, making things happen for himself and teammates. Evans played with some extra zip and he scored a goal and an assist, with the goal being credited as the game winner.
• Week 16: Aaron Schwartz – Blades rookie Aaron Schwartz was strong at the faceoff circle in Sunday’s win over the TP Flyers. His hard work along the boards, and strong fore-checking and back-checking, along with a timely assist has earned him the title of Blades Hardest Working Player for this week.
• Week 15: Lucas Coady – The coaches were impressed with Coady’s play in both zones, with his defensive zone play creating some offensive chances for his teammates. For his efforts Lucas is the latest Blades Hardest Working Player.
• Week 14: Stephen Bailey – Steve Bailey is this weeks Mark’s Work Wearhouse Mount Pearl Junior Blades Hardest working player. He scored 1 goal and added 3 assists in 2 games, leading the Blades to a weekend split. The captains strong play led him to earn the title of Hardest Working Player for the week.
• Week 13: Paul Mitchelmore – Paul put in a strong effort Sunday night against Avalon. His defensive play helped hold off a hard working Avalon team. Paul also scored a timely goal, tying the game at 4. For his play, Paul earned this week’s title of The Blades Hardest Working Player.
• Week 12: Matt Ryan – In his final game for the Blades, Matt Ryan has been named the HWPA for the week. His contributions for the Blades on and off the ice will be missed as he leaves us in the New Year. In his final game he had 1 goal and assist. Congrats and good luck!
• Week 11: Lucas Dearing – Against the Shore, Dearing led all Blades skaters with 4 points, and played a strong defensive game in helping the Blades secure the win over the Southern Shore.
• Week 10: Mark Hand – His strong offensive play against the Caps on Sunday helped ensure the Blades 5-3. He had one assist and was a big factor in the Blades comeback victory.
