The Mark’s Work Wearhouse Mount Pearl Junior Blades earned a hard fought victory Sunday night at the Glacier, defeating the Celtics 3-2. Mike Rose scored the game winner with a little over 5 minutes to play in the final frame. The Jungle Jim’s Player of the Game, Robert Barrett, chipped in with a goal and an assist. Matt Ryan also had a goal and an assist. Goalie Nick Rodway made 29 saves for the “W’, making some key saves during a Celtics 5-on-3 powerplay in the third period with the game tied at 2 goal a piece. After killing off the 2-man advantage, Rose netted the winner on a pass from Aaron Schwartz. The Celtics pulled their goalie with a minute left, but strong defensive play by the Blades helped seal the victory.
